Victory of truth: Jyotiraditya Scindia reacts to Kamal Nath's resignation as Madhya Pradesh CM

Bhopal/IBNS: Jyotiraditya Scindia, who switched sides from the Congress to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) just days ago, reacted to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath's resignation calling it the victory of truth.

Attacking his former colleague indirectly, Scindia tweeted, "People of Madhya Pradesh have won today. I believe politics should be the medium to serve people. The Madhya Pradesh government had deviated from the path of serving people. The truth has once again won..."

Ahead of the floor test which was directed by the Supreme Court, Nath resigned on Friday ending a political crisis in the state.

The Congress government in the state fell into crisis after 22 rebel MLAs had submitted their resignations to Governor Lalji Tandon.

Tandon has reportedly accepted the resignations of the rebel Congress MLAs turning the Nath government into minority.

All the MLAs are the loyalists of Scindia who resigned as the Congress member earlier this month.

The rift in Madhya Pradesh Congress started first with its then senior leader Scindia speaking against his own government.

In a recent incident, Scindia, a former MP from Guna, had threatened to protest against the Nath government over the demands of the protesting guest teachers.

In the present scenario where the strength of the house got reduced to 206, the majority is 104.

As the Congress and its allies have got reduced to just 99, the BJP, which has 106 MLAs, is set to return to government 15 months after suffering a defeat in the assembly elections in Dec 2018.

With the BJP returning to power, it is most likely three-term Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Chouhan will once again assume the topmost post.
