Vajpayee was the weakest PM: Congress

| | Apr 15, 2014, at 04:43 am
New Delhi, Apr 14 (IBNS): Days after praising former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on its website, the Congress party has now called him the "weakest PM" of India.
"The weakest Prime Minister that India ever had was AB Vajpayee. Gen Musharraf spent a night on Indian soil, while the PMO and NDA snored," Congress spokesperson Sanjay Jha said in a series of tweets.

"The weakest PM ever was AB Vajpayee, who wanted to sack Mr Modi for the ghastly Gujarat massacre, but succumbed to BJP bullying," Jha posted referring to the infamous 2002 Gujarat riots.

Slamming Vajpayee further, he tweeted: "The weakest PM India ever had was AB Vajpayee who was hugging PM Nawaz Sharif, even as 50 soldiers had lost their lives in Kargil."

"The weakest PM India ever had was AB Vajpayee who despite the treachery of Kargil, gave Musharraf a red carpet welcome at Agra," Jha claimed.

"The weakest PM India ever had was AB Vajpayee who gave Kandahar terrorists an escort-service,and allowed Parliament to be attacked," he wrote on Twitter.

Jha also attacked Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley.

"I believe now there are also Modi comic-books. That is understandable," he posted adding: "I was watching the Arabian Sea off Marine Drive this morning. Then saw a huge Modi wave; a baby pomfret landed on the beach."

Referring to former advisor to the Prime Minister, Sanjaya Baru's book which said PM Manmohan Singh was controlled by party supremo Sonia Gandhi, Jha tweeted: "Sanjaya Baru's book being promptly quoted by Mr Modi/Jaitley, get the drift? All well planned! The key is " timing" and the publisher."

"The publisher of Sanjaya Baru's book is the same who withdrew Wendy Doniger's book to shame and ridicule for appeasing Hindutva elements," he wrote.

"Dear Mr Modi/Jaitley, Just asking, but since you are so convinced about Sanjaya Baru, how about DG Vanzara's letter-bomb? Right?" asked Jha.

Stating that Modi is not fit for the post of PM, the Congress leader further tweeted:"Mr Arun Jaitley says"Thankfully The Economist does not vote"! That is an admission that he agrees with them that Mr Modi is unfit to be PM."

This comes after the BJP leaders have called Manmohan Singh the 'weakest PM' of all after the release of Baru's book, 'The Accidental Prime Minister.'

In his book, Baru wrote that Singh was "defanged" by the Congress in his second term with Sonia, deciding over key appointments to the Cabinet and to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
