Uttar Pradesh: 29 die as bus skids off Yamuna Expressway near Delhi

Agra, July 8 (IBNS): At least 29 people were killed and 17 others were hurt as a bus, in which they were travelling, skidded off the six-lane Yamuna Expressway near Delhi and  fell into Jharna Nullah (canal) on the Yamuna Expressway early on Monday morning, officials said.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bablu Kumar told UNI news agency that the ill-fated bus was going to Delhi from Lucknow when it fell into the Jharna nullah under Ethamadullah police station area.

According to him, the death toll may rise.

Several injured people were rushed to hospital for treatment.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath has expressed his deep grief and condolences over the death of the passengers and directed DM and SSP to provide all possible medical attention to the injured.
