UP: Shopkeeper commits suicide in Lucknow

Lucknow, May 27 (UNI) A 33-year-old shopkeeper committed suicide by hanging himself in Ghazipur area of this district in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday.

The victim identified as Neeraj Kumar Gupta, a resident of Indira Nagar.

Reportedly, Neeraj used to run a garment shop.

Sources said that Neeraj was sleeping on the second floor of his house. When he did not wake up till 1000 hrs, his father called him several times but he did not respond.
When his father went to his room, he found Neeraj's body hanging from the fan.

Upon receiving information, police reached the spot and brought down the body.
Reasons behind the suicide have not yet been ascertained.

Further investigation is underway.
