Saharanpur/UNI: Two miscreants, who were in the list of top 10 criminals in the district, were arrested by police after an encounter in Kutubsher area of Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur on Thursday.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Akash Tomar said that a joint team of Saharanpur and Shamli police arrested the accused, identified as Shubham and Vinit, after an encounter.

"Two criminals and Constable Abhishek got injured in cross-firing and were admitted to the district hospital," he added.

As per the SSP, a motorcycle looted from Kutubsher area, a mobile, one laptop and other items were recovered from the accused during preliminary interrogation.

He said other two criminals, who were also involved in the encounter, managed to flee from the spot and efforts were on to arrest them.
