New Delhi, Mar 6 (UNI/IBNS) Former Army chief and incumbent Minister of State for External Affairs Gen (Retd) V K Singh on Wednesday took potshots at the opposition parties and went onto describe terrorists with mosquitoes.

"Ab macchar kitney maarey, yeh gin-ney baithun (There were mosquitoes around and I used repellent to kill them. Now should I count how many mosquitoes were killed or sleep peacefully,)” Gen Singh tweeted in Hindi amid opposition parties questioning the authenticity of the strike.

Various opposition leaders including the likes of P Chidambaram, Digvijaya Singh, Kapil Sibal and Mamata Banerjee have raised questions over the casualty figures about the death toll in Pakistan in the February 26 air strike.

Union Home minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday had flayed Congress and other opposition parties for seeking details of the the number of deaths of terrorists and the impact left by the aerial strike.

“Should our IAF pilots have visited the sites of the strikes and counted those killed? What kind of drama is this? If our friends in Congress want numbers, I would ask them to go to Pakistan and count. Ask people there how many people were killed by our IAF pilots,” Singh has said while addressing a public meeting at Dhubri in Assam.
