Two killed, three injured in Assam blast
Guwahati, Feb 13 (IBNS): At least two persons were killed and three others injured in an powerful explosion in Assam's Sivsagar district on Friday morning, police said.
The explosion took place at Sepon bazar area near Moran in the oil riches Upper Assam district in which two people were killed on spot.
"Suspected militants of ULFA(I) had lobbed a grenade targeting to the house of a businessman named Bijon Agarwala. In the explosion two people killed and three others injured who were at the house, " a top police official said.
The suspected militants has managed to flee from the area after lobbing the grenade.
The deceased persons were identified as Chitu Agarwala and Dimbeswar Bhuyan.
The injured were admitted to Assam Medical College hospital in Dibrugarh.
Top police officials has rushed to the area and started investigation.
