Ambassa(Tripura), Apr 21(UNI) A housewife was electrocuted when she stepped on a live electricity supply cable lying on a road in the remote Sanaiya Riang Para in the bordering subdivision of Kamalpur in the northern Tripura district of Dhalai here today.

According to sources, Sanchita Riang(30), wife of one Bishiram Riang, trod over the electric wire, and died instantly from electric shock, this morning.

The incident triggered resentment among the villagers against Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited(TSECL).

The villagers alleged that the TSECL did not maintain the wire, which fell on the road and had been lying there since a few days.

Police sent the body to the local Bimal Sinha Hospital for postmortem.
