Train to Vaishno Devi base camp stuck in tunnel

Katra, July 16 (IBNS) A train inaugurated with much fanfare by Prime Minister Narendra Modi this month connecting the base camp of Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir was stuck in a tunnel near Katra for nearly two hours on Wednesday morning, said reports.

The train reached Katra late by two hours and it was stuck in a tunnel.

It was stranded at a place 5 km away from Katra owing to engine failure. Later another engine was sent from Udhampur.

  Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the newly constructed railway line between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Udhampur Section to the nation by flagging off the first train from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway Station, in Jammu and Kashmir on July 4 last.
