TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh changes X bio, sparks resignation buzz

Kolkata/IBNS: Trinamool Congress (TMC) spokesperson Kunal Ghosh, who was at the forefront in defending the West Bengal ruling party over Sandeshkhali case, sparked a buzz over his resignation from the party.

Ghosh, a journalist-turned politician, changed his X handle bio to "Journalist" and "Social Activist".

He hasn't said anything about it publicly yet.

On Thursday, Ghosh slammed one of his party colleagues for allegedly being "lobbyist" and "selfish".

"The leader is incapable, lobbyist and selfish. For the whole year, he will cheat and then win elections and fulfil personal interests riding on the emotions towards Mamata Banerjee, Abhishek Banerjee and other workers. This can't go on," Ghosh said in an X post.

Ghosh was at the forefront in defending TMC, which faced massive criticisms after several women from Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas accused now arrested and suspended local party strongman Sheikh Shahjahan and his aides of land grabbing and sexual abuse.

The incident has apparently given a boost to the opposition parties, particularly BJP, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, which are expected to be held in April-May.
