The way Congress is functioning, there will be no opposition in future: Himanta Biswa Sarma

Guwahati, June 9 (IBNS): Assam finance minister and convenor of the BJP-led North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday said that, the way Congress is functioning, opposition politics will be finished and there will be no opposition in near future and India will be ruled by BJP.

The Assam minister said that – “Now it is BJP and I don’t see anything beyond BJP.”

“My own assessment is that, India will be ruled by BJP and I have not seen anything beyond BJP in near future, immediate future, mid-term future and long-term future,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

The Assam minister further said that, whenever election will be there, Congress will lose one by one and they will go out.

“We don’t want to create a state where there is no opposition. We want to see opposition in Parliament. But for that, you have to leave dynasty politics, you have to be people-oriented. Now question is not who will rule the country. BJP will rule the country that is sure. But, whether there will be opposition or not. As a party, we feel that there should be an Opposition. But unfortunately, the way Congress is functioning, probably opposition politics will also finish and there will be no Opposition in near future,” Himanta said.
