Patna: Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav on Monday sought to the counterclaim of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on his stated principle of no compromise with crime and corruption by accusing him of shielding criminals, mafia, rapists and corrupt people.

Taking to his official twitter account to launch a fresh offensive against Kumar, RJD leader Yadav said, “Everyday scams getting unearthed! Helpless citizens losing lives to Crime! Hospitals have become a place to suffer and lose lives due to Government apathy! CM shields criminals, mafia, rapists and corrupt! But make no mistake, This is Nitish Ji's media managed Jungle Raj, Kushasan!”

In another tweet, Yadav said, “Inmates enjoying birthday parties in Bihar jails! BJP MLA flaunts gun atop an elephant! Nitish's MLA threatens civil surgeon to break his bones! Director general of police (DGP) fears for his own life! Cops getting gunned down! CM shields corrupt officials! Citizens losing lives to Crime, AES, floods-drought!”

Targeting the Narendra Modi government over India's gross domestic product (GDP) growth sliding to a seven-year low of 5 per cent in the April-June quarter of 2019-20, Yadav tweeted, “Are you listening?” and posted a news report published in a business magazine in June, 2018 in which Piyush Goyal who was interim finance minister during that period of time was quoted as saying, “India to achieve 10 per cent GDP growth by Q4 of FY 2018-19”.
