Suspected militants kill two persons in Assam-Nagaland border
The incident took place at B-sector of Assam-Nagaland border near Dhansiri, at a clash over a plot measuring 25 bighas, where suspected Naga militants, who were believed to have been hiding for Nagaland side, started firing to local residents of Assam and injuring at least five persons.
Among the injured persons two had succumbed to their injuries on the way to hospital.
The deceased persons were identified as Phusu Karmakar and Chintamoni Barhoi.
Security personnel have been deployed at the bordering area.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi had ordered top officials of the state home department and the Assam Police to take stock of the situation.
