Sunanda death: Shashi Tharoor quizzed for 2nd time today
New Delhi, Feb 12 (IBNS): Congress MP Shashi Tharoor was on Thursday quizzed for the second time by the Special Investigative Team (SIT) at the Vasant Vihar Police Station here in connection with the alleged murder of his wife Sunanda Pushkar.
Earlier in the day, Tharoor was quizzed by the SIT for about 5 hours.
He was reportedly quizzed over the ownership of Kochi Tuskers , a defunct IPL team, to find out whether his wife received equity on his behalf from a franchisee involved with it.
Tharoor's interrogation started around 11:30 AM on Thursday. He first reached Sarojini Nagar Police station in south Delhi and was later taken to Vasant Vihar's Anti Auto Theft Squad (AATS) office, where he was quizzed.
According to reports, a five-member SIT comprising Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Prem Nath and Additional DCP P.S. Kushwaha, besides three officers, asked Tharoor a number of questions, including those related to the now defunct IPL Kochi franchise.
Earlier on Jan 19, Tharoor was questioned at the Vasant Vihar Police Station.
Shiv Menon, the son of Sunanda Pushkar from her earlier marriage, was questioned by a special team of Delhi police too in connection with his mother's alleged murder.
The Delhi Police had registered a murder case for Sunanda Pushkar, who was Tharoor’s third wife. Pushkar was found dead in a five-star hotel in Delhi a year ago.
Sources said a medical report submitted by doctors in December last year establishes that Pushkar was poisoned.
Earlier in November, the Congress parliamentarian had written to the Delhi Police chief appealing him to carry out a probe which should be free of political pressure or a pre-determined outcome.
