Students accused of sedition visit JNU campus

New Delhi, Feb 22 (IBNS): Five "absconding" students, who are accused of sedition over anti-India chants , returned to New Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru University campus on Sunday. History student Umar Khalid was among the five and he addressed the students in the administrative block.

They were reportedly missing for the past few days.

Police were not allowed entry into the campus.

The five students  included Umar Khalid, who is described as the chief organiser of a event that marked the anniversary of execution of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.

Anti-India slogans were allegedly raised during the event.

Khalid denied all charges leveled against him.

Khalid told media: "I am not a terrorist."

The nation is currently witnessing protests and counter protests over the situation arising out of anti-India slogans in the JNU campus recently, and the police cracking down on students who marked the death anniversary of Parliament Attack convict Afzal Guru on its campus in the national capital.

JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar has been arrested  on sedition charges.
