| | Apr 13, 2015, at 12:09 am
Mumbai, Apr 12 (IBNS) Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut has triggered a big controversy by uttering that the voting rights of Muslims should be taken away to expose the real face of "secular" parties indulging in vote bank politics.

In an article in Sena party mouthpiece Saamna, Raut said on Sunday so long Muslims were used a vote banks they have no future in India.

He said late Sena chief Bal Thackeray was right in saying that the voting rights of Muslims should be taken away to expose the so called secular parties.

He said Muslims were used as vote banks and they were being exploited.

Raut also slammed All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi and said his party poses a threat to the nation.

The remarks of Raut sparked a major political controversy.

Later media reports quoting Sena sources said they never meant that voting rights of Muslims be revoked.
