Kolkata, Aug 16 (IBNS): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday summoned West Bengal minister and Trinamool Congress leader Partha Chatterjee in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam.

Chatterjee was asked to appear at the CGO complex in the afternoon.

The minister is the latest Trinamool leader who has been asked to appear before the CBI in connection with the chit fund cases.

Earlier Trinamool veteran Madan Mitra was arrested in connection with the case.

Trinamool-turned Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukul Roy was also summoned by the CBI years ago.
