Sachin Pilot, other rebel MLAs move Rajasthan High Court challenging disqualification notice

| @indiablooms | Jul 16, 2020, at 08:04 pm

Jaipur/IBNS: Former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot and his 19 loyalists on Thursday moved the high court challenging the disqualification notice served to them by the Assembly Speaker for "anti-party activities".

The high court will hear the plea at 3 pm.

While former Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi will represent Pilot in the court, Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi will represent his party and Speaker.

Sachin, a Congress leader, was removed as the Deputy CM and Rajasthan party chief on Tuesday after he had skipped two meetings of MLAs chaired by CM Ashok Gehlot.

If 19 MLAs are disqualified, the majority mark in Rajasthan will fall paving way for Gehlot to maintain majority in the assembly.
