RSS had no role in picking candidates for LS polls in Karnataka: BJP leader K S Eshwarappa

Bhagalkot, Apr 8 (UNI) Strongly refuting the charges of the KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao that RSS was involved in the selection of the BJP nominees to contest in the General elections, BJP leader K S Eshwarappa said “RSS is an independent institution, which teaches about Hindutva and propagate its values”.

Addressing newsmen, here on Monday, Eshwarappa, who is on election campaign in North-Karnataka district, said that “RSS is a cultural organisation which impart lessons on patriotism and Nationality to all, especially the youth”.

Maintaining that the KPCC president, was not aware of the RSS and its values, he said, “no attempts should be made to tarnish the image of the Organisation”.

Strongly defending his statement on the Chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy, in which he had dubbed him as ‘Nalayak’, he said “I have used such language, after he (Kumaraswamy) cried foul against the IT department authorities”.

“If it hurts him, I will change my stance and can describe him as ‘a man good for nothing” the BJP leader, who got admonished by a court recently, said.

Accusing that the one-point agenda of the chief minister was to ensure the victory of his son, Nikhil K, contesting as an Alliance candidate in Mandya Lok Sabha seat, the BJP leader said that “Kumaraswamy has also no time to campaign in Hassan and Tumakuru, Lok Sabha seats, where his nephew and father, are contesting as the JD(S) candidates, respectively.

The BJP leader had denied that BJP had conspired to join hands with the independent candidate and Cine star, Sumalatha in Mandya Lok Sabha seat.

“Its an election strategy and not a conspiracy” he said.
