Rs 1.50 lakh unaccounted cash recovered in Assam’s Karimganj

Guwahati, Apr 17 (IBNS): Ahead of polling for the second phase of Lok Sabha election, police and flying squad team of the Election Commission of India (ECI) recovered Rs 1.50 lakh unaccounted cash from a vehicle in Assam’s Karimganj districton Tuesday.

During the checking the police and flying squad team had recovered the cash amount from a vehicle bearing registration number TR-02B-0377 at Dohalia area under Patharkandi police station and apprehended the driver of the vehicle.

Police, ECI and Income Tax department have recovered over Rs 11.79 crore cash in Assam after the announcement of the Lok Sabha election dates.
