Robert Vadra's Facebook hints he is mulling political plunge following wife Priyanka
New Delhi, Feb 24 (IBNS): Congress president Rahul Gandhi's brother-in-law Robert Vadra has hinted in a Facebook post that he could be joining politics.
With government agencies interrogating him in cases related to several scams, Vadra said it had been more than a decade of different governments trying to malign him while diverting real issues plaguing the country.
"People of the country gradually realised... there was no truth in any of these allegations," he wrote.
"... once all these accusations n allegations are over, I feel I should dedicate a larger role in serving the people," Vadra said.
"Now with my visits to the Enforcement Directorate in Delhi n Rajasthan, almost 8 visits, of many hours and since I have always adhered to rules n surely not above the law, I have been a person to learn from every event I go through," he said.
"The years n months that I spent campaigning n working in different parts of the country, but mainly in UP, gave me a feeling to do more for the people n make smaller changes possible by me, in their areas n when they got to know me, the genuine love, affection n respect I earned was humbling," he wrote.
Robert wife Priyanka recently made her official debut in politics. The Congress party has made her a general secretary and given her the charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Saying his years of experience and learning should be put to good use, he said: "... once all these accusations n allegations are over, I feel I should dedicate a larger role in serving the people."
When asked about his political ambitions, Vadra told CNN-News18: "I don't have to be in politics to help the people of the country, but if by joining I can make a larger difference, then why not? But the people will decide.”
