Ram Jethmalani meets Geelani, Shabir Shah In Srinagar

Srinagar, Aug 17 (IBNS) Famous Supreme Court lawyer and former Union Law Minister Ram Jethmalani on Saturday held met Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani at his Srinagar residence for around an hour.
According to IBN , Jethmalani, who is at present on a family tour to Kashmir, Saturday visited the residence of Syed Ali Geelani and held a detailed meeting of one hour duration.
 
Ram Jethmalani discussed various issues pertaining to Kashmir with the Huriyat chairman during which Geelani asked the lawyer to provide legal aid to the Kashmiri prisoners who are at present languishing in various jails of the capital.
 
Geealni also stressed that various Kashmiris don't get  fair trail in New Delhi and measures must be taken to ensure that they are being provided  satisfactory legal services.
 
During the meeting, Jethmalani asked the chairman of Hurriyat's hard-line faction that the stand must be softened as the circumstances have changed as compared to the past and there must be flexible approach so that the Kashmir issue is addressed.
 
Meanwhile, the chairman of Kashmir Committee, Ram Jethmalani, also  met HCJK leader Shabir Ahmad Shah here. Shah was accompanied by JKLF-R chairman Farooq Ahmad Dar (BitaKaratey) and Muslim Conference chairman Shabir Ahmad Dar.
 
According to a spokesperson, a thorough discussion on Kashmir issue was held during the meeting. Shabir Ahmad Shah while presenting his viewpoint said till Kashmir issue is  resolved, the peace in the subcontinent is a distant dream. He stressed on India to initiate steps to resolve the issue.
