Rajasthan: Congress ally's sole MLA gets cabinet rank

| @indiablooms | Dec 24, 2018, at 10:48 am

Jaipur, Dec 24 (IBNS): Subhash Garg of the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), who is the only MLA from his party that helped the Congress reach the majority mark, will be given cabinet rank at the oath-taking ceremony of ministers that will take place on Monday, NDTV reported.

The Congress has tried to maintain a balanced cabinet with representations not only from various sections of the society but also between youth and experience.

Twenty-three ministers will take oath in Jaipur on Monday, a week after Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot took charge as chief minister and deputy chief minister of Rajasthan following Congress' win in the Assembly elections, the results of which were declared on Dec 11.

The Congress is being careful with its decisions, all of which are taken keeping the 2019 General Elections in perspective.

The Rajasthan government may have up to 30 ministers.

Swearing-in of the Congress' Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh ministers are expected to take place on Tuesday.
