Punjab: Temple priest found murdered in Kartarpur

Jalandhar, Apr 8 (UNI) Tension prevailed in Kartarpur town after a 50-year-old priest of Baba Balaknath temple in Khatika Mohalla was murdered early Monday morning.

The incident came to notice when a 'sevadar' went to the temple at around 0330 hrs and found the priest, identified as Balbir Kumar, profusely bleeding.

People from nearby areas gathered there when the sevadar raised an alarm. They rushed the seriously injured priest to the civil hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police have registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC against unidentified assailants.
