Punjab Police nab drugs smugglers in Phillaur

Phillaur/UNI: The Phillaur Police Friday succeeded to nab four drugs smugglers and recovered drugs, cash and phones from him.

They have been as identified as Ram Labhaya,Manu Chawla,Meena Saini, and Anchal, all residents of Phagwara.

DSP Phillaur while confirming it told UNI correspondent here Friday that the accused were nabbed at a High-Tech Naka near Sutlej River in Phillaur when they were coming in a Breeza Car.

850 gm opium,75 gm heroin, Rs 1.22 lakh cash and five mobiles phones were recovered from him.

In another case, the Lohian Khas police have arrested a drug peddler on the charge of selling intoxicant tablets.

The investigating officer said 400 intoxicant tablets were recovered from the accused identified as Nishan Singh a resident of Satra Daurra village under Patti Police station in Taran Tarn.

A case under various sections of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused and his two-wheeler was impounded.
