Satara (Maharashtra): A woman fell into a deep gorge in Maharashtra’s Satara while taking a selfie during an outing with friends, media reports said.

The 29-year-old woman had come to Borne Ghat in the Satara district from Pune with a group of friends. She fell into the 100 feet deep gorge near Thoseghar waterfalls.

She was brought out of the gorge by a home guard and the other mountaineers in her group.

The video of her rescue has gone viral.

The woman was promptly taken to a hospital where the doctors examined her.

Her condition is stated to be normal now, according to the reports.

The incident comes close on the heels of the tragic death of a 26-year-old Instagram influencer on July 16.

Aanvi Kamdar fell into a gorge at Kumbhe waterfall near Maharashtra's Raigad while shooting a video and died.

In the aftermath, local authorities urged everyone to enjoy tourism responsibly and prioritize safety while exploring the scenic beauty. They emphasised the need to avoid risky behaviour that could endanger lives.
