Puducherry: Rs 16 lakh seized ahead of LS polls

Puducherry, Mar 31 (UNI) Grand Bazaar Police here seized a hefty amount of Rs 16 lakh from two people ahead of Lok Sabha Elections.

According to police, "Shabbir Qureshi (38) and Afyal Vallimohammed Dhruj (42) of Bhav Nagar, Gujarat, checked in at the Ashram Guest House here on Saturday night. On suspicion, we searched them and recovered Rs 16 lakh in cash from their possession."


"As they could not produce any valid documents, we seized the money and informed the IT Department," police added.
