Puducherry: Man killed as unidentified gang hurl bombs at him in Kirumambakkam

Puducherry/UNI: A man was killed when unidentified gang hurled bombs at him in Kirumambakkam on Friday.

The victim, identified as Sambasivam (35), was brother-in-law of former Councillor Veerappan, who was killed in a similar manner four years ago.

Police said, Sambasivam was going to the house of a relative to invite the family for a function in his house. When he reached the Kirumambakkam government school, the gang hurled country made bombs at him killing him on the spot.

The gang later escaped from the spot.

Kirumambakam Police seized the body and sent it for post-mortem.
A case has been registered.

Meanwhile, the villagers put up a road blockade on the Puducherry-Cuddalore road demanding the arrest of the culprits and senior police officials are holding talks with them.
