Lucknow/UNI: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Sunday slammed the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh for mulling contractual jobs in government offices.

Tweeting in Hindi on Sunday, Priyanka Gandhi said, "Youths are demanding jobs and the UP government comes up with a proposal for contractual jobs for 5 years . It is only an effort to rub salt on the wounds of the youth and challenging them."

She further said in Gujarat, too, the youths are being denied permanent jobs. There is a fixed pay system for those working and they haven’t received any hike in their pay since several years.

"We will not allow the government to snatch the self-respect of the youths," the Congress leader said.

It has been reported that UP government has proposed the recruitment for Group B and C positions on contractual basis for five years and they will be made permanent thereafter if they meet  the norms.
