Police vehicle escorting workers back from Telangana overturns; driver killed, 5 jawans injured

Ramgarh/UNI: A vehicle of the Chatra police, which was escorting a bus carrying workers who arrived by a special train from Telangana today, overturned in Ormanjhi valley, killing the driver of the vehicle and injuring five other policemen.

Police said that the Invader Jeep of Chatra police overturned in the early morning.

The injured were rushed to Ramgarh Sadar Hospital where the driver of the police vehicle identified as Dinesh Kumar was declared dead by the doctors. The police jawans are being treated in the Sadar Hospital.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Hemant Soren condoled the demise of constable Dinesh Kumar who was posted in Chatra district.

He said Dinesh Kumar was driving the jeep escorting the vehicle carrying workers who had returned home.

Hemant said that the state will never forget his sacrifice and prayed to the almighty to rest his soul in peace and give strength to the family to overcome the loss.

He assured that the administration was with the family of the deceased.
