Police recover huge cache of arms-ammunition in Assam’s Kokrajhar district

Guwahati/IBNS: Police have recovered a large number of arms-ammunition and explosives in Assam’s Kokrajhar district.

The arms, ammunition were recovered from a jungle area of Shantipur area under Kachugaon police station in Kokrajhar district under the Bodoland Territorial Area Districts (BTAD) on Sunday.

Based on intelligence input, a police team launched a search operation in the jungle area and recovered the arms including AK series rifle, pistols, grenades which were kept hidden underground.

A top official of Kokrajhar district police said that the arms, ammunition and explosives were kept hidden in the jungle area.

On Aug 25, police recovered one AK series rifle, four pistols, large number of ammunition, two walkie talki sets from Nepalpara rubber bagan area in Udalguri district.
