Police, ECI team seize Rs 35 lakh cash from a vehicle in Assam’s Nagaon district

Guwahati, Mar 29 (IBNS): The Assam police and the surveillance team of Election Commission of India (ECI) have seized Rs 35 lakh cash from a vehicle in central Assam’s Nagaon district and detained four persons in connection with it.

According to the reports, during the checking, the police and the surveillance team of ECI recovered Rs 35 lakh cash from a vehicle at Kuruabahi area under Jajori police station.

The vehicle came from Nagaon to Jajori.

Police have also detained four persons, who carried the cash and they were not able to show proper documents about the said amount.

Police investigation is going on.

“We have conducted operation at various areas following the direction of the ECI. During the checking, we recovered Rs 35 lakh cash from a vehicle at Kuruabahi area and detained four persons in connection with it. We also informed the Income Tax officials,” a police officer said.
