Police directed to track mobile phones of people under quarantine: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi/IBNS:  Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday the Delhi Police have been directed to track mobile phones of people in home-quarantine to find out if they stepped out or came in contact with others.

"We are tracking cellphone location of Corona suspects. Everyone who has been contacted by suspect is being tracked down and being quarantined immediately," Kejriwal said.

He said: "11084 phone numbers were already handed over to the police & today 14,345 will be sent to trace whether they have been adhering to the quarantine."

"Strict actions will be take against those who did not adhere to the orders," he said.

India, including New Delhi, has been reporting a spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in the past few days.

The virus, which originated from China has now touched nearly all the nations across the globe.
