PM to address Election Rally in T'Puram today

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 18 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address an election rally here on Thursday evening.

Mr Modi is expected to mention the controversial Sabarimala issue.

The Prime Minister, who will land at the Air Force Technical Area at Sanghumugam by a special flight, will drove straight to Central Stadium to address the rally named 'Vijay Sankalp' at 2000 hrs, sources said.

The Prime Minister will address party workers from Thiruvananthapuram and Aattingal Constituencies.

He seek votes for party candidates Kummanam Rajasekharan and Ms Sobha Surendran.

The Prime Minister is expected to mention violent politics of CPI(M), controversial Sabarimala and Padmanabha Swamy temple issues and give a reply to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's remarks that he is spreading lies on Sabarimala.

He will also highlight various development projects implemented during his tenure and the failure of Kerala government in utilising central funds.

Mr Modi is also expected to attack CPI(M) and Congress party for their stand on various issues and Congress President Rahul Gandhi's candidature in Wayanad.

All the 20 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state will go to polls in the third phase of seven-phased Lok Sabha election on April 23.

The counting of votes will be held on May 23.

After spending more than one-and-half hours in the state capital, the Prime Minister will leave for Delhi from the Air Force Technical area by a special flight at 2130 hrs.

Meanwhile, Traffic restrictions will be in place between 1400 hrs and 2200 hrs along Shanghumugham - Chakkai - Pattah - University College - VJT Hall - Central Stadium stretch, sources said.

AirPort bound passengers are requested to adjust their travel plans between 1600 hrs and 2200 hrs.

Vehicles moving towards Thampanur and East Fort will be diverted via Public Library road and Bakery Junction.

Parking has been restricted between the Airprt-Statue Road stretch and parked vehicles will be removed using recovery vehicles after 1600 hrs, the sources added.
