PM Modi to receive award from Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for Clean India initiative

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will receive an international recognition for his Clean India initiative which was launched during his first term, officials said on Monday.

He will receive the award from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. 

Modi will receive the award during his visit to the US.

"Another award,another moment of pride for every Indian, as PM Modi's diligent and innovative initiatives bring laurels from across the world. Sh @narendramodi to receive award from Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for #SwachhBharatAbhiyaan during his visit to the United States," Union Minister Jitendra Singh tweeted.

Modi had launched the initiative after becoming the Prime Minister for the first time in 2014.
