Meerut, Mar 28 (UNI): Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre has brought laurels to the country and that India had become a superpower in the world.

"Under the NDA's rule, every day, India is achieving a greater heights in the world, and yesterday, the country became a superpower in the space too," Yogi said.

Welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who launched the party's poll campaign from here, Yogi said India had become world's sixth largest economy, and in next three years, the country would achieve the distinction of world's third biggest economy.

He alleged that the previous SP and BSP governments had neglected the western Uttar Pradesh but the BJP, after coming to power, launched several projects for public welfare.
