PM Modi congratulates Jagan Mohan Reddy for taking oath as Andhra CM

Vijaywada, May 30 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief Jagan Mohan Reddy for taking oath as the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister on Thursday.

Modi tweeted, "Congratulations to @ysjagan on taking oath as Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister. I assure full cooperation from the Centre. We will work together to take Andhra Pradesh to new heights."

Jagan was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor ESL Narasimhan at 12:24 pm at a grand public function in Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) Stadium here.

He is the second Chief Minister after Nara Chandrababu Naidu of Andhra Pradesh post its bifurcation.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and DMK president M K Stalin were in attendance at the function.

The YSRCP has bagged 151 of the 175 seats in the state assembly to decimate the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
