PM Modi casts his vote in Vice-Presidential election

New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi cast his vote in the Vice-Presidential election at the Parliament House on Tuesday.

Modi was the first one to cast a vote in the election.

The voting will continue till 5 pm. The result will be announced at 6 pm.

The election was necessitated after Jagdeep Dhankhar made a shock resignation from the post.

The voting is taking place weeks after Dhankhar stepped down citing health reasons.

While the ruling NDA has fielded Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan, the opposition INDIA bloc has nominated former Supreme Court judge B Sudershan Reddy for the election to the second highest post in the country.

While the NDA is ahead in number game, the INDIA bloc calls it 'ideological battle'
