PM Modi attends BRICS Summit virtually, slams Pakistan without naming it on terrorism issue

New Delhi: Indian PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday attended the  12th edition of BRICS Summit where he made a veiled attack on Pakistan and said countries that support the terrorists should be held accountable.

"Terrorism is the biggest problem in the world today and we must ensure that countries that support terrorists are equally blamed," Modi said as he joined the crucial summit virtually.

"We're happy that under Russia's leadership, BRICS' counter-terrorism strategy has been given its final touch & India will take it forward," India PM Modi said.

Speaking on the reform needed in the UN Security Council, Modi said: "India has been a core supporter of multilaterism and thus, the UN. However, multilaterism is enduring a challenge as it adapt to changing times."

He said: "India believes reforms in the UN Security Council are very important and it expects support from its BRICS partners as well."

The current summit of the BRICS summit was hosted by Russia.
