PM Modi arrives in Lumbini, received by Nepalese PM Sher Bahadur Deuba

Kathmandu/New Delhi, May 16 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Lumbini, Nepal on Monday morning on an official visit, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Buddha Jayanti.

On arrival at Lumbini, Prime Minister Modi was warmly received by the Prime Minister of Nepal, Sher Bahadur Deuba, his spouse Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, and several Ministers from the Government of Nepal.

The PM said in tweets: “Landed in Nepal. Happy to be among the wonderful people of Nepal on the special occasion of Buddha Purnima.

Looking forward to the programmes in Lumbini.”

“I would like to thank PM @SherBDeuba for the warm welcome in Lumbini.” As Prime Minister, this is his fifth visit to Nepal and first to Lumbini.
