Guwahati/IBNS: Amid the border tension between India and China, a Congress MLA of Arunachal Pradesh has claimed that five people from the northeastern state have reportedly been abducted by the Chinese army or the People's Liberation Army (PLA) from Sera 7 area under Upper Subansiri district along Indo-China border.

The youths, who have been abducted by Chinese PLA, belong to the Tagin community and they are hailing from Nacho circle under Upper Subansiri district.

The five youths were abducted from the jungle area near Nacho while they went to the bordering area for hunting.

The persons who have reportedly been abducted by the Chinese army are Tanu Bakar, Prasat Ringling, Ngaru Diri, Dongtu Ebiya and Toch Singkam.

Arunachal Pradesh Congress MLA and former MP Ninong Ering said that five people from Upper Subansiri have reportedly been abducted by China’s  People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and a similar incident happened a few months back.

He tweeted, "SHOCKING NEWS: Five people from Upper Subansiri district of our state Arunachal Pradesh have reportedly been ‘abducted’ by China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA). Few months earlier,a similar incident happened. A befitting reply must be given to #PLA and #CCPChina."

According to the reports, two other villagers, who also went with the five persons in the bordering area, had managed to escape and narrated the entire incident before the other villagers.

In April last, the Indian army had facilitated the safe return of a 21-year-old youth from Upper Subansiri district who had crossed over to the Chinese territory for searching herbs.
