Pakistan violates ceasefire in Poonch, India retaliates

Jammu, Aug 20 (UNI) Pakistan on Tuesday violated the ceasefire by firing unprovoked along the Line of Control in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

"Pakistan at around 1100 hrs initiated ceasefire violation by firing of small arms and shelling with mortars in Krishna Ghati Sector of Poonch," defence Spokesperson here said.

He added that Indian Army was retaliating befittingly to the ceasefire violation.

Earlier on August 17, an Army jawan attained martyrdom as Pakistan Army violated the truce agreement by firing unprovoked along the Line of Control in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district.

Prior to this, on August 7, Pakistan Army violated the ceasefire by firing unprovoked along the Line of Control in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district.

On August 5, Pakistan violated the ceasefire in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri.

On August 1, a civilian was injured as Pakistan violated ceasefire by firing unprovoked along the Line of Control in Nowshera sector of Rajouri.

An Army jawan attained martyrdom in ceasefire violation along the Line of Control in Rajouri district, on July 30.

On July 29, three civilian suffered injuries in Shahpur area of Poonch, including a ten-day old child, who succumbed during the treatment.
