Chandigarh, Feb 20 (IBNS) As the violent job quota stir by the Jats of Haryana continued to spread, Haryana Director General of Police Yash Pal Singal said their priority is to restore law and order first.

"Our first priority is to restore law and order," he told a press conference here.

"We have regrouped available forces. Protesters are changing plans frequently," he said, adding that even helicopters are used to combat the violence and restore law and order.

Violent protests by the Jat for job reservations singed Haryana's Rohtak and other districts as the Army had to be called in after a minister's house was set on fire on Fridaywhile protesters went berserk torching police vehicles, buses and other property, said reports.

Reports on Saturday said several shops were looted while a mall was also torched while the Army personnel facing road blocks used choppers to enter the town.

Demonstrators reportedly burnt Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu's residence. However, no casualty was reported.

The minister was in Chandigarh and his family had been moved to safety earlier.

According to reports, RN Mall in Rohtak  was burnt by demonstrators.

Three people have been killed in police firing so far, reports said.
