New Delhi, Apr 4 (UNI): The Supreme Court on Thursday declined urgent hearing to a mentioning which had sought a direction to defer the Tamil Nadu Lok Sabha elections to Apr 21 from 18th of the same month as the date clashes with Easter.

One K Nallena had sought the postponement as voting would be done in churches, where Easter would be observed on Apr 18, Thursday.

The bench of Justice SA Bobde ruled,'' We will likely hear the writ on Monday.''

It was contended that Easter would be observed on April 18 in churches, when the voting would take place.
