Panaji/UNI: Goa Chief Minister's Office (CMO) on Wednesday clarified that educational institutions in state have not been shut down due to outbreak of Coronavirus.

"A fake screenshot of Hon'ble CM's tweet is circulating on social media. No such tweet has been made by the CM. Screenshots may be cross-checked with official Twitter & Facebook profiles of the CM and CMO for their authenticity before being forwarded," the Chief Minister's Office said in a tweet.

The clarification came soon after a screenshot which resembled like the tweet of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant claimed that educational institutes in the state had been shut down on due to outbreak of Coronavirus.

"Due to the dangerous outbreak of COVID-19, also known as Corona Virus, the Education Department has declared that all educational institutions must be shut so as to prevent spreading of the virus," the fake tweet claimed.

While not a single person has tested positive for the deadly virus in the state till date, a 27-year-old person was quarantined at Government Medical College (GMC) and Hospital on Wednesday.
