New Delhi: Mamata Banerjee to participate in Opposition's Save Democracy Rally today

New Delhi, Feb 13 (IBNS): Just weeks after she had hosted a massive rally of the oppositon parties in Kolkata, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is in Delhi on Wednesday to participate in "Save Democracy Rally" in the national capital.

This will be the second show of Opposition unity ahead of the Lok Sabha elections that will take place by May.

Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is already in New Delhi and NDTV, quoting Trinamool sources said Wednesday's party would be attended by former prime ministers and current and former chief ministers.

As of now, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Naidu will accompany Mamata at Jantar Mantar, Delhi's designated protest site.

Mamata had called off her dharna in Kolkata earlier this month over the standoff between the Kolkata police chief Rajeev Kumar and the CBI and said she, along with other Opposition leaders, would take up the issue in Delhi.

At the previous mega show of strength by Opposition leaders in Kolkata, the representatives of 23 parties had taken part in it.
