| @indiablooms | Feb 19, 2019, at 11:15 pm

New Delhi, Feb 19 (UNI) The National Commission for Women (NCW) on Tuesday wrote to the Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik asking him to probe journalist Barkha Dutt harassment case at the earliest.

Journalist Barkha Dutt had to face the heat in social media from some quarters over extending help to Kashmiris post Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma in her letter to the police chief  informed that Ms Dutt  has allegedly complained to the commission about receiving abusive messages as she offered aid to some Kashmiris who were being targeted in wake of the terrorist incident.

"It is further reported that she tweeted to the Delhi Police apprising them of the harassment," as per the letter.

The commission has also asked the Delhi police chief to apprise about the feedback as early as possible in the matter.
