Narendra Modi to release next instalment under PM-KISAN on Friday

| @indiablooms | Dec 23, 2020, at 09:49 pm

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the next instalment of financial benefit under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) on Dec 25 at 12 noon via video conferencing.

With the push of a button, the Prime Minister will enable the transfer of more than Rs. 18,000 crores to more than 9 crores beneficiary farmer families, read a government statement.

The Prime Minister will also have a conversation with farmers from six different states during the event.

The farmers will share their experiences with PM-KISAN and also on various other initiatives taken by the Government for the welfare of farmers.

Thousands of farmers are camped in Delhi-Haryana border for nearly a month now with the sole demand of the repeal of the laws enacted by the central government through an Ordinance amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Amid the farmers' protests, Prime Minister Narendra Modi felt the Opposition is misleading the farmers considering the farm laws as a revolution in the agricultural sector and freedom to farmers.

The several rounds of talks between the union ministers and farmers' representatives went in vain as the peasants were stubborn in their demands while the government was in no mood to repeal the laws.
