Nagaland police distribute relief materials among stranded labourers, students amid lockdown

Guwahati/IBNS: Amid Coronavirus lockdown, the Nagaland police have taken an initiative to deliver relief materials to the stranded labourers, students door-to-door.

The Nagaland police on Friday had started the drive to help the stranded labourers and students in the state.

The Nagaland cops have so far aided 62 stranded labourers and students in Kohima city.

A top police official said that, most of the stranded labourers and students are from the eastern part of the state.

“The stranded labourers and students are facing many difficulties to search and purchase foods during the lockdown period. Apart from other social activities and enforcing lockdown, we are trying to help them in this crucial time,” the police official said.

On the other hand, the Kohima district administration has been distributing relief materials to help those who are affected due to the lockdown.

The district administration has distributed relief materials to over 30,000 people under the Kohima Municipal area in past a week.

The other district administrations of the state have also taken initiative to help the poor and needy people during the lockdown period.
