Allahabad: Junior Home Minister Ajay Mishra's son Sunday surrendered before the police in Uttar Pradesh and was sent back to Lakhimpur prison where he was lodged earlier.

Ajay Mishra's son Ashish Mishra has been accused of running over farmers during a protest demonstration against the now-repealed farm laws.

Ashish Mishra has been accused of killing farmers and a journalist in the incident.

He was granted bail by the Allahabad High Court in February this year but it was cancelled by the Supreme Court.

The apex court, however, allowed him to approach the Allahabad High Court again.
